Win Bitcoins with this provably fair Bitcoin game

Bitcoin Games

Today I am going to introduce a Bitcoin Game I have recently been playing. First of all, let me just state that I am a massive skeptic when it comes to online games of chance that offer you the ability to win something. There are countless unscrupulous website operators out there that run unfair games that will only ever payout when they have taken in enough money. These games are essentially just ponzi scheme’s disguised as legitimate games of chance. Unfortunately there is absolutely zero regulation of these online games. They are free to cheat and scam money from unsuspecting patrons who believe they are playing games of pure chance.

With the ever increasing popularity of Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple, many more of these online games have been popping up. How do you know if the Bitcoin game you are playing is fair? This is not a simple question to answer. Many games that claim to be fair are in fact not. There are many different ways to implement a provably fair Bitcoin game, but the most common is to use a form of hashing algorithm. This involves sending the player a hashed version of the seed used to generate the “random number” before the game is played. After the game is played, the player can then re-generate the “random number” themselves and verify that it produces the same hash. This is an over-simplified explanation of the process which is generally far more complex than this, but that is beyond the scope of this article.

Luckily for you, I will be reviewing some Cryptocurrency games and making sure that they are fair. The first of which is

Bitcoin Game is a very popular Bitcoin faucet and Bitcoin game with over 13 million users. has paid out over 130,000 Bitcoins to its players since its inception. Today I will be briefly looking at their “Multiply BTC” Bitcoin Game.

Bitcoin Game Fairness

So of course the first thing i looked at was the fairness of the game. states that it is a “provably fair” game, and even offers a nice little page where you can verify your rolls are in fact fair. This uses the hashing method I briefly described above. I performed 20 test rolls and, using both their own test page, and my own spreadsheet, calculated the hashes. Now I’ve used my own spreadsheet here as an additional verification step, just in case their verification page is also trying to cheat us. Every one of the 20 rolls proved to be fair, which given what i have heard about this site, is no surprise. Alright, so the random number generation is fair, now on to the game itself.

Bitcoin Game Rules

The Multiply BTC game on is an enhanced version of the classic High/Low game in which the player predicts whether a randomly generated number will be higher or lower than a given number. If the player is correct, they win, if not they lose. For example, a 6-sided dice is rolled and the player must predict either low(1,2,3) or high(4,5,6). The version rolls a number between 0 and 10,000, and the player predicts either “HI” (the number will be greater than 5250) or “LO” (the number will be less than 4750). If the player is correct then they win 2 times(double) their bet. Sounds fairly standard so far, but now comes the interesting part, allows you to change your payout odds. Instead of winning double your bet, you can choose to win 10 times, 50 times, 100 times, all the way up to 4750 times your bet. Of course choosing better odds decreases the range of numbers you can roll to win. For example, if you want to win 10 times your bet, you must roll greater than 9050 for a “HI” prediction, or less than 950 for a “LO” prediction. If you want to win 4750 times your bet, you must roll greater than 9998 for a “HI” prediction or lower than 2 for a “LO” prediction.

Bitcoin Game - Playing the Multiply BTC Game

The really interesting part about the Bitcoin Game, is that it allows you to change the odds in the other direction. This is great if you don’t like taking risks. You can reduce your payout odds all the way down to 1.01 times your bet. This means you only need to roll greater than 594 for a “HI” prediction or less than 9406 for a “LO” prediction to win. Another feature that makes stand out is the fact that the minimum bet is just 0.00000001 Bitcoins (1 satoshi). This is currently about 0.008 US cents. This is great if you want to give it a go without risking too much. The game also offers an optional jackpot feature where you can add an additional amount to your bet for a chance to win the jackpot by rolling exactly 8888.
